Sustainable-Background

Here is what our customers say…

The CX1 unit by Harp Renewables has been an amazing addition to the Catering Department at The Portsea Camp.  Staff are more conscious about separating food waste from general waste, and by doing this it has also helped us control our food waste more efficiently, as staff have seen how much food has been going to landfill.

We now have a vegetable garden at The Portsea Camp and have seen the effect the compost the CX1 unit generates on the growth of our plants. Not to mention the educational garden programs this can lead to.

We will be able to do full circle, from garden to plate, then waste to CX1 unit, then back into the garden. The potential for these devices is amazing with the positive effect it will have on our environment.

I know that if in the future smaller units were to be manufactured for residential use, I would definitely invest.

Thank you from the team at The Portsea Camp.

Since installing the unit from Harp Renewables downstairs, our overall experience has been quite positive.  We’ve managed to roughly halve the amount of rubbish going into our general waste from the kitchen and even managed to reduce waste volume on front of house things such as coffee grinds, bar fruit excess, etc.  The transition for the team has been quite straight forward and adopted well as they can really get behind the positive environmental impact it achieves compared to our previous operation.  From a business point of view, the obvious effect is a reduction in costs pertaining to our general waste collection week on week.  It’s also good for our business to practice good corporate responsibility and do all we can to have more sustainable practices in our venue operations.  Overall, you could say it has been beneficial for our business both financially and ethically.  Our team finds the use of the machine clear and straightforward with the quick technology allowing us to consistently use the machine day on day and have very little impact on our work flow.  I’d recommend this system to any venue looking to improve their sustainable practices and reduce costs in the process.

We have seen a significant reduction in the overall wastage in the venue. This spans from kitchen to FOH.

We find the staff are really behind the environmental effects and all are very on board with separating the different food scraps.  The unit is very easy to use and has a great turn over time. All staff are happy and willing to use the unit as its clean and odour free.

Overall we think this is a great addition to our venue and a great way for us to be more responsible environmentally.

We have been using our Harp renewables composter for several months and are extremely happy with the positive impact it has had to our business. The Harp Unit has so far proven to minimise the overall “general waste” produced by our venue. By separating our food, we have seen a reduction in the amount of waste trucks needed, in turn, reducing our waste disposal related costs. Our staff are more engaged in our new approach to waste management, supportive of our environmental choice and actively making the necessary changes. The Harp unit processes all our food waste into compost quickly and effectively, quietly and with no offensive odours.
